Squirrel Selbu hat, featuring a squirrel motif in brown and white — part of my Selbu collection, inspired by the Norwegian municipality famous worldwide for its knitting tradition and the iconic selburose star pattern.

The pattern comes as a PDF with written instructions in English, charts and photos, available for immediate download after payment. This is easy level knitting pattern; the following skills are required: Cast on, Knit, Purl, Circular Knitting, Color Knitting, Bind off. All measurements are given in US and metric. Hat is knitted in one piece. Full pattern support is available via message or email.

SIZE: Adult — 22”–24” / 56–60 cm circumference.

YARN: Any aran weight yarn in two or three colors. I used DROPS Nepal:
66 yds / 40 g in dark brown color (0612),
50 yds / 30 g in off white (0100),
33 yds / 20 g medium brown (0618).

GAUGE: 4” × 4” / 10 cm × 10 cm = 17 sts × 22 rows in stockinette stitch.

NEEDLES: Circular or double pointed needles US 4–7 / 3,5–4,5 mm.

The pattern is easy to follow. The chart even helps minimize the jog you often get when doing a pattern on circular needles. I had to go up a size needle on the ribbing and use a stretchier cast on, but that’s just how my tension works. It’s adorable!

Sehr hübsches Design! - die Strickanleitung ist auch für mich als Anfänger leicht umzusetzen - Dieses ist mein erstes mehrfarbiges/mehrfädiges Projekt, daher konnte ich nicht wissen, dass ich ziemlich fest im Muster stricke. Für die nächsten zwei Projekte, die ich mir schon bestellt habe, nehme ich für den Musterbereich einfach eine größere Nadelstärke. - FAZIT:
Es macht sehr viel Spaß und man hat ein tolles Erfolgserlebnis! Sehr empfehlenswert, vor allem auch für alle diejenigen, die sich sonst von Strickschriften abgeschreckt fühlen. Mit dieser Anleitung klappt es bestimmt! *****
