Bunny Icelandic Lopapeysa Sweater Knitting Pattern • Vinterskog Yoke Pullover (PDF)

VINTERSKOG Icelandic Lopapeysa sweater is a unique design in the tradition of Icelandic knitting. The word «Vinterskog» means «winter forest» in Swedish. Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to underarms, then joined to work yoke in the round. Round begins at left side of body. On yoke, round begins on the left side of back at the joining of body and sleeve. For knitting the sleeves I recommend using the ‘magic loop’ technique, which helps you to avoid bunching up when enlarging and also saves your time.
In the pattern you will find a table of sizes, basic measurements and calculations. This will make it easier for you to guide yourself when working on your sweater. The table is versatile and can be used to work on any lopapeysa. Almost all measurements are given in US and metric.
The Vinterskog pullover knitting pattern is provided as a PDF with written instructions in English with charts and photos, available for immediate download after payment. It is formatted for A4 and US Letter paper. You will need software such as Adobe Reader to open the file.

GAUGE: 10 cm × 10 cm / 4” × 4” = 18 sts × 23 rows in stockinette stitch.

NEEDLES: Circular needles 4.5 mm / US 7. Please check that your gauge matches the recommended one for the chosen yarn and adjust your needle size if needed.

YARN: Léttlopi by Ístex (100% Icelandic wool). The featured colours are 1701 Fjord Blue and 0051 White (short-sleeved sweater) and 0051 White and 1702 Milky Way (long-sleeved sweater).
