RATAS Fair Isle Cowl is inspired by a traditional knitting motif from Hiiumaa, Estonia — the «tõllarattakiri», or carriage wheel pattern. «Ratas» means «wheel» in Estonian — a symbol of life’s rhythm, movement and continuity.
The pattern is provided as a PDF with written instructions in English, charts and photos, available for immediate download after payment. It is formatted for A4 and US Letter paper. You will need software such as Adobe Reader to open the file.
Full pattern support is available via message or email.
This is easy level knitting pattern; the following skills are required: Cast on, Knit, Purl, Circular Knitting, Color Knitting, Bind-Off. All measurements are given in US and metric. Cowl is knitted in one piece.
